Wojciech T. Kaftanski
Wojciech T. Kaftanski, Ph.D., was a 2020 Visiting Faculty Fellow from the Institute of Philosophy at KU Leuven, Belgium, where he worked as a Research Fellow. His project, entitled “The Modern Man and Imitation: A Study in Selfhood and Morality,” puts in dialogue a number of modern and contemporary thinkers to advance the contemporary conversation on the role of imitation, imagination, and ethics for exemplarity and role modelling. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Australian Catholic University in Australia. There he taught courses in philosophy and theology for a number of years. His research project, undertaken under the supervision of Jeffrey Hanson, Ph.D. and Tyler J. VanderWeele, Ph.D., explores the link between affective admiration, wellbeing, and role models in moral and social philosophy. Dr. Kaftanski was previously a Visiting Scholar in the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre at University of Copenhagen (2015) and a House Foundation Fellow at Hong Kierkegaard Library at St. Olaf (2011).
