Promoting Flourishing in Schools (August 2022)

The Human Flourishing Program at Harvard invites you to join our virtual Flourishing Network event on Promoting Flourishing in Schools.

August 31 10am-11am EDT

In this event, Research Schools International school partners and collaborators will share how they are encouraging flourishing in schools around the globe. We will begin with a panel Supporting Flourishing in Schools Around the World, moderated by RSI Lead Researcher Ben Hill, with Will Warren from Romerike International School in Norway, Nascira Ramia from Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador, Al McConville from The King Alfred School in the UK, and Ayse Yemiscigil from The Human Flourishing Program at Harvard and The Koç School in Turkey. We will then consider a case study in which researchers partnered with practitioners to promote student flourishing at Sevenoaks School in the UK. In this project, our research team first conducted research at the school to identify areas for growth, and then Teacher Research Fellows created, implemented and tested flourishing interventions to target those areas for growth. In this session, Teacher Research Fellows will share their action projects and engage Flourishing Network participants in their flourishing interventions, including a mindfulness session, an activity involving reflecting on values, a growth mindset activity, and a flow exercise!
