Jennifer Wortham, DrPH, serves as the President and CEO of the Society for Global Flourishing. She holds an academic appointment as a Research Associate in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and serves as the Program Lead for the Initiative on Faith and Child Flourishing for the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University.
She specializes in public health, human flourishing, and systems transformation, with research interests spanning trauma, resilience, spirituality, moral injury, population health, and whole-person care. Her work focuses particularly on the relational, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of well-being, and examines how individuals and systems can foster healing, hope, and flourishing in the aftermath of adversity and trauma.
Dr. Wortham’s research agenda centers on trauma and resilience, moral injury, and the integration of spirituality within health and human flourishing frameworks. Her work explores the implications of these areas for vulnerable populations, including survivors of childhood adversity, individuals experiencing moral suffering, and communities impacted by systemic inequities. She has contributed to scholarly publications, interdisciplinary initiatives, and global policy discussions addressing flourishing, trauma recovery, and compassionate systems of care.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration, applied research, and global advocacy, Jennifer is also involved in developing initiatives that bridge science, spirituality, and public health practice. Her broader mission is to expand access to humane, whole-person approaches to healing for at-risk and vulnerable populations.
Dr. Wortham holds an MPH, and Dr.PH in Public Health from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, Department of Health Policy and Management.
