What makes life meaningful? Is happiness a worthy goal? What is the foundation for meaning in a secular society? Is life an existential void?

Frank Martela, author of A Wonderful Life (Harper Design 2020), will deliver a talk on meaning in life, providing a unique perspective that explores what brings significance to our existence and why we are dissatisfied with the present and have a continual yearning for something beyond where we are right now.

Speaker: Frank Martela, PhD., is a philosopher and researcher of psychology specializing in the question of meaning in life. His articles have appeared in Scientific American Mind and Salon, he has been interviewed by the New York Times and VICE, and he has been invited to lecture at universities on four continents. Martela is based at Aalto University in Helsinki.
