M.A., received his masters in psychology from Boston University where he studied cognitive behavioral therapy in Stefan Hofmann’s social anxiety lab. His abiding interest in mindfulness led him to investigate acceptance and commitment therapy with Kevin Majeres at Harvard Medical School, conducting a literature review for an online resource to help individuals overcome cravings, reduce anxiety, and maximize flow. He recently received a presidential fellowship to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology and minor in statistical methods at University of Houston. There he will investigate the role of mindfulness, exposure, and hope in treatments for adult anxiety disorders. At the Program on Integrative Knowledge, he is interested in projects that use the Thomistic-Aristotelian understanding of virtue and mind to inform contemporary positive psychology.
